Road Construction!

It's summer. We're Ohio. There's bound to be road construction! Here's what we know so far. All of this construction is around Cincinnati / Hamilton.

US 127, 1250' south of Waycross Rd. to EB I-275 ramp

Proj. 565(08) - Major widening of US 127 (Hamilton Avenue) to five lanes, with curb and gutter, from 1250' south of Waycross Road to the EB I-275 ramps. NB SR 127 will be widened to three through lanes north of Waycross and two SB through lanes from the interstate ramps to Seven Hills. Traffic signals at Seven Hills and at Waycross will be replaced. Seven Hills will be widened to add a left turn lane. Two-way traffic shall be maintained at all times using temporary or existing pavement. Driveway access also to be maintained at all times. Temporary blocking of traffic by construction vehicles shall be held to a maximum of five (5) minutes in a sixty minute period. Adjacent street traffic to be maintained at all times except Waycross Road to the west of Hamilton Avenue. Phase 2 (mid-2009), will have Waycross Road closed to the west of Hamilton Avenue for a period not to exceed 21 consecutive calendar days

US 127 at Houston Road to US 127 at Crest Road

Proj. 620(08) - Widening US 127 (Hamilton Avenue) from two to five lanes from Houston Road to Crest Road. Project includes pavement construction with full depth pavement removal, curb and gutter, storm water drainage and traffic control. Reliance Drive will be closed at a future date and a detour will be posted. Two 12' wide lanes of traffic shall be maintained during all phases of construction. Access to all driveways will be maintained. No traffic interference shall take place between 6 and 9 a.m. and 3 and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Beginning 6 p.m. Sunday, July 19, traffic on US 127 (Hamilton Avenue) on the north side of Interstate 275, will be pushed to the east side (right shoulder) so paving work can begin on the west side of the road.

US 127 (Pleasant Ave.) from John Gray to Symmes

Proj. 43(09) - Two-lane resurfacing of US 127 (Pleasant Avenue) from John Gray Road to Symmes Road, city of Fairfield. Work includes plane and pave with surface course and level course where necessary. Install loop detectors, raised pavement markers and pavement markings. Milling and paving will take place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. using single lane closures with flaggers. Periodic day work for manhole adjustments between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. whil maintaining two lane of traffic.

Where to Stay?

240 miles is a long way to travel in one day, especially when you are stopping every few miles for yard sales, flea markets and the like. We kindly recommend you make it a two or three day excursion.
